AISM 2025
Newsletter Issue 1 - Term 3
PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING
Aaron Wise, Principal

It has been wonderful to see our students return this week, full of energy and ready for the exciting term ahead. I’d like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome everyone back to Term 3 and extend a very special welcome to all the new families who have joined our AISM community this term. We are delighted to have you as part of our school and look forward to seeing your children thrive here.
I am also pleased to introduce several new staff members who have joined us this term. Please join me in welcoming:
- John Hill, who joins our Mathematics faculty in the Senior School.
- David Kelly, who brings his expertise and passion to our Music program.
- Emily Lafferty, who joins us as our new Drama teacher, further strengthening our Performing Arts program.
- Nur Nadiah, who commenced on 21 July as a temporary EAL teacher in the Middle and Senior School.
In addition to these new staff members, we are looking forward to welcoming Nick Duggan, our new Head of Middle and Senior School, who will officially commence at AISM on 4 August. We are excited about the experience and leadership he will bring to this important role.
As we look ahead, I would like to remind everyone about one of the highlights of the AISM school year – International Day, which will take place during the final week of this term. International Day is a wonderful celebration of the diversity and rich cultural backgrounds that make our school so special. It is always a vibrant, colourful, and joyful occasion, and I encourage all students and families to start thinking about how they can get involved.
JUNIOR SCHOOL
Michelle Chaplin, Head of Junior School

The Junior School is excited to welcome several new students and their families to our classrooms - some this week and more to come in Week 2 and Week 3. The joy that has been in evidence this week, as students make new friends and chat about their holiday adventures, is what makes AISM so special.
Our community partnership is significant for our students, and this term we have a lineup of wonderful events to bring us together to learn from each other and to celebrate. Please check closely the events that are appropriate for you to come along and enjoy!

Whole School Parent-Teacher-Student Learning Conferences
We look forward to welcoming parents and students to the second conference of the year on Wednesday, 30 July. This three-way conference is an opportunity for parents, teachers AND students to discuss learning, celebrate growth and share learning goals for the semester ahead.
Please note that as teachers are all involved in conferences, there are no classes, buses or child care scheduled for this day. Students will arrive and leave with their parents.
Once again we will be using Schoolsbuddy as our online booking system for this day. Please check your Seesaw/Gmail accounts early next week for booking links and instructions.
