OUR APPROACH TO LEARNING
Leading the Way in Research-Based Education
AISM is proud to be the world’s first Visible Learning School, a recognition of our commitment to research-based teaching that places students at the centre of their learning.
Developed by Professor John Hattie, Visible Learning is an evidence-based approach that makes learning clear, measurable and meaningful. Teachers learn to see the process through their students’ eyes, while students develop the skills to become their own teachers.
Making Learning Clear and Meaningful
Our approach shapes every classroom experience, creating a shared language of learning between students and teachers. Through clear goals, valued feedback and active reflection, our learners take ownership of their growth emerging as adaptable, collaborative and creative thinkers.

Why It Matters
Building Independent, Confident Learners
We want every student to be an active participant in their own learning journey. By making goals and progress visible, students gain ownership of their education, developing resilience and becoming confident, independent learners. Parents also benefit from this approach, as they can clearly see how their child is progressing, not just through grades, but through growth in skills, attitudes and understanding.
Clear Learning Intentions & Success Criteria
Teachers share with students exactly what they are learning and how success will be measured.
Feedback that Fuels Growth
Students receive timely, specific feedback that helps them understand what they’ve done well and what can be improved.
Self-Assessment & Reflection
Students are encouraged to reflect on their progress, identify strengths and plan their next steps.
A Culture of High Expectations
Teachers and students work together in a supportive environment where effort, perseverance and improvement are celebrated.
