Student Support
Wellbeing In The Classroom
Learning flourishes when wellbeing comes first. Guided by optimism, mindfulness and our RECIPE values, our classrooms encourage students to feel supported and confident. Every teacher is dedicated to helping children develop into balanced, lifelong learners.
Learning with Balance
Classroom Practices
Wellbeing is woven into daily learning through simple, practical strategies that support focus and balance. Teachers integrate mindfulness activities, positive routines and reflective practices into lessons, helping students manage stress, stay engaged and develop healthy learning habits that last well beyond the classroom.
Mental Fitness
Students gather weekly to discuss and learn about strategies to grow Mental Fitness – they explore concerns, reflect on learning and practice collaboration through active listening, respectful dialogue, and positive thinking.
What Went Well?
These reflective sessions encourage students to celebrate the positives from their week and connect their insights with family conversations, a key practice in fostering optimism.
Mindfulness
Students experience quiet moments for breath awareness, emotional check-ins, and self-reflection. Some use mindfulness journals and apps to track feelings and build clarity.
Goal Setting
Aligned with Visible Learning principles, students set term-long learning goals and weekly SMART mini-goals, including those focused on social growth.
Nurturing individual needs
English Support
Students receive focused support to build their English proficiency while they continue to access their learning across school subjects. This nurturing approach empowers each student to feel assured, capable and ready to achieve.
Intensive English Support Class (IESC)
Offered in Years 6 – 9 to support students with limited English, combining intensive language lessons with selected mainstream subjects. This hybrid model helps students integrate into school life while building the English skills needed to access the Australian curriculum confidently.
English As An Additional Language (EAL)
For students with a higher understanding of English we offer an EAL program that continues to support their English learning while fully engaging in the mainstream curriculum, offering personalised support to build confidence and enhance achievement.
