Principally Speaking – RUOK Day
1 Apr 2023Celebrating Cultural Exchange: AISM Welcomes Chin Community Students
3 Apr 2023THE BIG QUESTION:
What is this Green Sustainable Education approach we are learning about here at our Living Campus?
The vision is about making sure that our carbon footprint is as minimal as possible. From here, we then establish a platform that allows us all to actively and concretely take action. We follow the natural cycle of things and we try to stay within this principle.
1. Green Sustainable Classroom: First ring of the chain cycle The student representatives, members from the school Green Team and teachers are involved in informing and educating the community about the importance of preserving and protecting our environment. The first most fundamental step is to educate people's mindset, especially everyone from our school campus. The preservation and protection of our Environment is everyone's responsibility, children and adults alike.

2. Biodegradable raw materials (waste): Second ring of the chain cycle In everyday life, these raw materials are normally considered as waste and are thrown into landfills which in consequence have a huge environmental pollution impact on the planet.
3. Organic Composting Center: Third ring of the chain cycle This step is fundamental to the success of the whole system. Here, students get to learn the necessary skills that are required to understand and obtain a wonderful organic compost that is rich in nutrients and better for the environment. Last week we collected the first batch of our “Green Gold” ready for our fruit trees and other plants.
4. Back to Nature: Fourth ring of the chain cycle To help our environment, our trees grow healthy, thrive and produce sweet fruits. We want to help our plants to thrive and to create a place of rich biodiversity in which living things flourish. The students are now able to give back to Nature our free “Green Gold”, our rich organic compost, fertiliser.
5. Nature offering back: Last ring of the chain cycle This happens when we give back to nature our nutrient rich organic fertiliser. Nature, in turn, reciprocates with many benefits, like sweet fruits, lush green vegetation, a biodiverse garden, and a pleasant environment.
