Healthy Body & Mind
Sport is an essential part of our Australian education. At AISM, we believe active bodies nurture healthy minds. Every student takes part in sport, whether for fun, fitness or competition. Our programs build teamwork, commitment and enjoyment at every level. Coaches bring deep expertise and passion, with sessions led by both well-known Malaysian professionals and our own specialist sports teachers. Students not only develop skills but also a lifelong appreciation for physical activity and sportsmanship.

Our students compete locally and internationally through AISA, AIMS and MSSD, gaining valuable experience in teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.

We focus on five core sports — Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Swimming and Cross Country, giving students the chance to train, compete and excel at every level.
International Sport Opportunities
At AISM, our students proudly compete on the international stage through the Australian International Schools Association (AISA), joining schools from Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the UAE. Each year, students aged 16 and under travel overseas to take part in the annual AISA Games, competing in basketball, football, touch rugby, netball and swimming. More than just competition, AISA fosters resilience, teamwork and cultural awareness while nurturing friendships and sportsmanship that last a lifetime.
The last games were held November 2024 in Singapore where AISM was represented by 40 students. Over three exciting days, our athletes competed against highly skilled opponents, many from schools up to three times our size. Despite the challenges, our students excelled, showing determination, teamwork and pride in representing AISM.

60+ Inter-school Competitive Fixtures
Students proudly represent AISM in competitive fixtures through the Association of International Malaysian Schools (AIMS) and the Majlis Sukan Sekolah Daerah (MSSD), taking part in over 60 inter-school competitions each year. These events give students the opportunity to test their skills against peers, while fostering teamwork, resilience and a spirit of healthy competition. Whether on the court, field, or track, students grow in confidence as they represent their school community.
AIMS Cross Country Champions
Our extraordinary AISM students brought home the overall Association of International Malaysian Schools (AIMS) 2024 Cross Country Champion Title in both the Junior and Middle & Senior School categories.
MSSD Tennis Tournament Champion
Congratulations to AISM student Colin from Year 9, who achieved an outstanding second place in the 2025 MSSD Tennis Tournament. His impressive performance has earned him qualification for the State-level Tennis Tournament.
School Wide Annual Sports Events
Sports aren’t just about competing outside the school, they’re also about building spirit and healthy competition within. Each year, students take part in our much-anticipated school wide events. Junior, Middle and Senior students compete within their year groups, proudly representing their Houses. These internal programs encourage every student to participate, discover new strengths, and celebrate teamwork, resilience and school pride in a fun, supportive environment.
Athletics Carnival
A day filled with excitement, energy and House spirit. Students compete in track and field events, building resilience and teamwork while celebrating personal bests.
Swimming Carnival
Making a splash with fun and friendly competition, this event sees students race, cheer and showcase their swimming skills in a vibrant House atmosphere.
Cross Country Carnival
A test of endurance and determination. Students run across varied courses, pushing themselves while cheering on their peers, building stamina and school pride.
Triathlon Event
The ultimate challenge of strength and perseverance. Students take on swimming, cycling and running in one thrilling event that celebrates grit, stamina and House camaraderie.
AISM Barracudas Swim Squad
Students with a passion for swimming can join our Barracudas Swim Squad, training during CCA sessions with a professional coach in our 25m swimming pool. The program develops skills and prepares swimmers for competition through specialised training. For younger swimmers, the Pre-Barracudas Program builds confidence and skills before moving into the squad. All instructors are accredited by AUSTSWIM, FINA or equivalent, ensuring high-quality coaching in a supportive environment.
