Global Academic Competition
The World Scholar’s Cup is a renowned global academic competition that challenges teams of students to think critically, debate persuasively and collaborate under pressure. Open to both Junior and Senior students, it is an exciting platform for sharpening academic skills, expanding general knowledge, and building confidence through teamwork and friendly competition.
Debate, Collaborate, Achieve: World Scholar’s Cup
The World Scholar’s Cup is more than just a competition, it’s an experience that fosters a love of learning and a spirit of collaboration. Students tackle topics across science, history, literature, the arts and more, learning to connect ideas across disciplines. Each participant competes in four key events:
Debate
Developing persuasive arguments on challenging topics.
Scholar’s Challenge
A rigorous multiple-choice test of critical thinking and knowledge.
Collaborative Writing
Crafting compelling essays under time pressure.
Scholar’s Bowl
A high-energy team quiz combining problem-solving and strategy.
Through these events, students develop skills in public speaking, research, analytical thinking and teamwork, abilities that will serve them well in school, university and beyond.
AISM at the World Scholar’s Cup 2025
AISM has a proud track record in the World Scholar’s Cup, regularly fielding teams in regional and international rounds and bringing home top honours. AISM proudly sent 32 students to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Regional Round at Panyaden International School in June 2025. Our scholars shone brightly, bringing home top honours across both Junior and Senior Divisions in this global academic tournament, which celebrates learning across disciplines through Debate, Collaborative Writing, the Scholars Bowl and the Scholars Challenge.
