The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round 2026, held in Kuala Lumpur from 26 June to 1 July 2026. Competing against thousands of talented students from around the world, our scholars demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, debating, collaborative writing and teamwork, further reinforcing AISM’s commitment to academic excellence and global learning.
AISM Students Achieve Global Success at the World Scholar’s Cup
The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is one of the world’s most prestigious international academic competitions, bringing together students from across the globe to challenge themselves in debating, writing, collaborative problem-solving and the Scholar’s Challenge. The competition celebrates curiosity, communication, leadership and teamwork—qualities that are deeply embedded within the Australian International School Malaysia’s approach to education.
This year, AISM proudly hosted the Global Round in Kuala Lumpur while also earning the distinguished recognition of being named Outstanding Host School. Adding to this remarkable achievement, AISM was also recognised as the Second-Best Debate School Overall in the Junior Division, highlighting the exceptional standard of our debating programme and the dedication of both students and coaches.

Outstanding Junior Division Results
Competing against more than 1,100 junior scholars from around the world, AISM’s Year 6–9 students delivered an exceptional performance, securing 2 Top 10 trophies, 22 Gold Medals and 20 Silver Medals.
Among the standout achievements were:
- 3rd Overall Team Debate – Charlotte Cheong (Year 8), Charlotte Hill (Year 8) & Chelsea Unsworth (Year 8)
- 9th Overall Individual Debate Champion – Fletcher Hill (Year 6)
- 14th Overall Team Debate – Derek Tan, Fletcher Hill & Brooke Williams (Year 6)
- 14th Overall Individual Debate Champion – Charlotte Cheong (Year 8)
- 25th Overall Individual Debate Champion – Charlotte Hill (Year 8)
- 26th Overall Individual Debate Champion – Chelsea Unsworth (Year 8)
- 67th Overall Writing Champion – Brooke Williams (Year 6)
These outstanding results reflect not only the students’ academic ability but also their confidence in public speaking, analytical thinking and collaboration under pressure.
Strong Performances in the Senior Division
AISM’s Senior Division students also delivered an impressive performance against more than 750 competitors, earning 2 Top 10 trophies, 13 Gold Medals and 12 Silver Medals.
Highlights included:
- 7th Overall Individual Debate Champion – Eva Clark (Year 10)
- 8th Overall Team Debate – Eva Clark (Year 10), Isis Janett (Year 9) & Naomi Campos (Year 10)
- 17th Overall Writing Champion – Jayden Hoh (Year 11)
Their achievements demonstrate the strength of AISM’s Secondary School programme, where students are encouraged to become articulate communicators, independent thinkers and globally minded learners.
