Volunteering at Zoo Negara: Our Unique and Enriching Experience

In conjunction with CARE Week, the Junior School LOTE Mandarin team prepared some exciting activities for the students. One such activity was a unique and engaging sensory walk that brought students closer to nature and fostered their creativity. Teachers led the students around the school compound, where they explored the natural environment and collected leaves, twigs, and other materials. This hands-on experience provided an opportunity for the students to engage with their surroundings and appreciate the beauty and diversity of nature.
After the refreshing ‘Treasure Hunt’, the students returned to their classrooms, where they were encouraged to use the collected materials to create their own pieces of art. This activity allowed them to express their creativity and interpret their experiences in a tangible way. The artworks reflected a wide range of styles and ideas, showcasing the students' individual perspectives and artistic talents.
The LOTE Mandarin-CARE Week activities, such as the sensory walk and art creation, highlight the importance of experiential learning and the connection between nature and creativity. The week was a success, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for the natural world and a sense of accomplishment in their artistic endeavours.
